Preston in Spring

I have blogged about Preston several times already, but I took some new photos today...

Everywhere looks better in the sunshine, and when the daffodils are in bloom, it is even better.

The Harris Quarter

The indoor market was demolished a few years ago. A couple of weeks ago, its replacement opened; given the slightly pretentious name, the Harris Quarter. Harris was a rich Victorian who donated money to pay for the library - the refurbishment of which seems to be taking longer than the building of the Harris Quarter.

It is sited by the covered market - you can see the canopy on the edge of each shot. At the entrance to the covered mark there is a Wallace and Gromit sculpture. The Harris Quarter has their arch-enemy.

The Spud Bros

The flag market has a couple of caravans selling street food, and for some reason one has become immensely popular, and always has a long queue, so here is the queue.

And the place itself.

Personally, I am not queuing that long just for a baked potato, so whether they are worth the wait I do not know.
